Joseph Brewell was Ari’s 5x great-grandfather, born in 1799. In the 1841 census he was listed in North End, Wirksworth, Derbyshire, working as a sweep, and not born in the county. In 1851 he is listed as a sweep and Chelsea Pensioner, born in Farnsfield, Nottinghamshire. This is where he seems to have enlisted, and there are some records showing him in the 7th Regiment of Foot, 1st and 2nd Battalions from June to Dec 1815, stationed at Dover.
