Family Tree Research
I am a qualified genealogist and will use my professional experience and skills to research your family.

I will research your family and send you a bespoke illustrated PDF report that you can share with family and friends.

Online family tree: I will research your family and help you create an online family tree that you can share and invite family members to join, allowing them to add photos and create charts.

Family tree update and refresh: Do you have an old family tree that someone has given you? I can check your family tree for you, and suggest updates and corrections. We can then turn it into an online family tree to bring it back to life.

Teaching and Talks
I am an experienced and very patient tutor. I love sharing my passion for genealogy individually or with an audience.
I can teach you how to research your family history, on a one-to-one basis or in small groups (online, or in person in the Abingdon area).
I can talk about family history to your society, history group, school group, or other organization (online, or in person in the Abingdon area).
Mentoring and Advice
I am an experienced mentor and will work with you in whatever way you prefer, to get the best results for you.

Mentoring: I can mentor you as you make progress with your own research, offering suggestions for next steps and perhaps avenues you have not thought to explore. I can offer this service by phone, email or Skype.

Advice: I can advise on breaking through brick walls, where to go next, or how to find out more. I can advise on which DNA test to choose. I am involved in several family history projects and can suggest ways to involve a group or community in such a project. I can advise on starting a one-name study. I can act as a consultant if you want to set up a genealogy course for beginners or more experienced students, including what to prepare, facilities required, and suggested course outlines.
Writing and Editing
I am a fully trained copy editor and proof-reader, with many years of experience supporting authors, producing newsletters, and blogging.
Writing your family story: I can advise you on putting together a family history. Maybe you had an ancestor who lived a colourful life and you’d like to write about them. I’ll show you how to get started, and how to find pictures and documents to illustrate your book.

Family history packs: Contact me for a personalised pack that is designed to help anyone research their tree or tell their story. Just tell me their name, date and place of birth, and I'll send you a pack specially made just for them. The packs cost £10 or £20 and would make a very special gift.
