Elizabeth Dancocks was Ari’s 7x great-grandmother. She was born in the village of Kempsey, situated on the river Severn in Worcestershire, in 1732.
Elizabeth’s parents, George and Hannah, called her Betty, and her baptism took place on 16 April 1732 at St Mary’s church.

In her twenties, Elizabeth gave birth to two sons, Richard and William (baptised in 1756 and 1761).
Then, in 1768, she married Henry Giles, of the parish of White Lady Aston, also known as Aston Whitelady, White Ladies Aston, or Aston Episcopi (where Oliver Cromwell slept before the Battle of Worcester in 1651).
A son, Thomas, was born and died in 1769 in Kempsey. It looks as though they went to live in White Ladies Aston, where Elizabeth had another son, Henry, in 1771.
Elizabeth’s husband Henry died in 1796, and she died in 1811. Her burial record, dated 8 January, describes her as a pauper.
