Ari's 6x great-grandfather, John Bishop, was born in 1770 in Rous Lench, a small village in Worcestershire. His parents were John Bishop and Hannah Moor, and he was baptised on 9 June that year at St Peter's church.
On 16 October 1792, John married Ann Willis at the church of St John the Baptist in nearby Grafton Flyford.
In 1841, John can be seen in the census at age sixty-five, living on the Common in Grafton Flyford and working as an agricultural labourer. Ann had died the year before, and John is living next door to his son Thomas.
He is still there in the 1851 census, still working and now described also as a pauper.

John died of old age on 18 November 1860 at Sale Green, Huddington. He was ninety years old, and still an agricultural labourer. His burial took place four days later at Grafton Flyford.
